ABOUT WARD RIDGE FARM
Ward Ridge Farm is a Colorado-based business focused on 100% organic, GMO-free, and SOY-free eggs and chicken. Our commitment is to provide high-quality, locally sourced feed, vitamins and minerals to our animals so we can provide our community the best tasting and most nutritious food. We stand out by providing the best product possible while treating our customers as we would our family.
History
Poultry in the Ward family dates back to Ebon Ward in the early 1930's. Ebon and his family, had a poultry farm where they bred and raised White Leghorn chicks. One of Ebon Ward's sons was John Morris Ward. At an early age, John helped to take care of the chickens and even lived in the Chicken house at one point after the family home burned down during the great depression. And so the interest in poultry found its way down to John's grandson, Michael Ward.

I (Michael Ward), a great grandson of Ebon Ward, moved to Colorado at the age of 8 from Arkansas. Being raised with and around chickens much of my life, I have a natural affinity for these creatures that provide so much.
​
So when I married Allison and we began having children, my mind began to race with a question. How do we teach our children to understand responsibility both for themselves and others? My conclusion was simple. Teach our kids how I was taught. I personally believe, there is no greater responsibility than the life and death of animals we come to grow and love. This reality brought the Ward family to Larkspur, Colorado.

Due to our family history, the natural first choice was chickens and as chickens do (ever heard of chicken math?), they began to multiply and with the Ward family, this tends to happen very fast. Today Ward Ridge Farm has more than 500+ chickens. This may seem like a lot to many, but in the poultry industry this is still quite small.
